All About Me

I rarely talk about myself on this website, preferring instead to focus on my children; after all, they are my primary reason for writing at all.  But today I was tagged in this All About Me meme, which began life on Cold Tea and Smelly Nappies, and I decided to give it a go.  I don’t enjoy myself as a topic, particularly but really, how bad can it be?

First of all tell us your name and what you do….

Fairly straightforward; my name is Jen and I am a mother, (soon to be) wife, writer and lover of photography, books, travel and messy play.

I live at home with….

James (hubby), Jasmine (four going on fourteen, on a good day), Sonny (train mad three year old who dislikes dinner and going to bed) and Lily & Charlie (mother and son), our pair of cats who are ostensibly not the sharpest knives in the drawer.  We also have a rabbit, Dusty, but he currently lives with my parents due to our lack of garden.

My favourite thing to do is….

Apart from spending time with James and the kids, I like to write, a lot.

My favourite thing to eat is….

Chicken bhuna, garlic rice, garlic naan, bombay aloo.  I didn’t even need to think about that one!

When I get cross I….

Either go quiet or shout, neither of which I enjoy.

Sometimes I worry because….

Honestly, it would be easier to list the things about which I do not worry.

My favourite book is….

I have read a few that I have loved (Susan Fletcher’s Eve Green being a particular favourite), but I always think of A Little Princess when I am asked this question.  It is one that I cannot wait to read with Jasmine; I only hope it is as good as I remember.

My favourite toy is….

I love my laptop.

I dislike….

People who are disingenuous; ostentation; judgement; ignorance; certain attributes of our pets.

When I grow up I want to be….

Organised, and the best Mummy my children could ever hope for.
