Keep Your Garden Looking Glorious- All Winter Long!

You might not be able to sit out in your garden as much as you’d like over the autumn and winter, but it’s still nice to keep it looking pretty. A nice garden gives the home kerb appeal and is also good to sit and look out at from the window while sipping a hot drink when the weather is cold. The trouble is, it can be tricky keeping the garden looking alive when many plants naturally start breaking down at this time of year and don’t make an appearance again until the spring. Here are some ways you can get around this. Keep your lawn maintained Lawns are pretty hardy, as long as they’re well maintained they should stay green all the way throughout the year- making your garden look more alive. As we move into autumn, now is the time to use a lawn feed which is high in potash and phosphates- these encourage root growth and help protect the grass from frost and icy conditions. Online bingo: just the respite you need

What do you do when your child goes to sleep and you’re looking to just relax? My suggestion would be to try playing online bingo. With a free sign up bonus, you get to try out various games without having to make an initial deposit. Once you feel comfortable with what the site …

My Blogging Nook Wishlist

When it comes to blogging, I’ve always had lots of ideas.  I’ve not always had the time to execute them all, though, nor have I had a dedicated space in which to write up the many and varied posts that come into my head.  Last week, the latter changed when I set about creating my very own blogging nook.  So far, it is rather bare. I’ve since turned the desk so it is against the wall, giving me a space for pictures, a notice board, perhaps even a shelf. I’ve also set up the printer, which also works as a scanner, meaning I can upload drawings and bits and pieces the kids make to the blog with minimal fuss. Right now, it is perfectly functional.  But there are a few additions I would really like to make! A desk lamp is a must, and I adore this one from ShabbyChic-London: I would also like some art for the wall space.  I love, love, love these prints that the very clever Debs from Super Busy Mum made, with …

30 Years of Accessorize

It is incredible to think that Accessorize is now 30 years old; it was only recently that I discovered the shop is older than I am. I have always seen it as modern and cool, completely on-trend. I suppose it is preconceptions that led me to believe that only new shops can be so! Accessorize is one of the shops I most look forward to visiting when we pop into town, especially when the new seasons come around. I love the range of things for little girls – Miss J has two gorgeous pairs of ear muffs that we both love – and I also adore the bags and wallets for bigger girls. The Spring/Summer 2014 collection is set to include some especially lovely pieces and aims to celebrate the milestone birthday of one of the British high street’s most treasured charms: Exciting stuff, eh? Definitely the go-to place for gift shopping this year; I recently bought my sister a lovely owl wallet for her birthday. Suffice to say it went down very well indeed! For …
