Snow White at the Pavilion Theatre, Worthing

One of our favourite pre-Christmas family traditions is a trip to the local pantomime, which always promises to be a fun evening.  This year, we were treated to Snow White, featuring the one and only Chesney Hawkes, amongst others. The show was full of laughs and japes with henchman Herman (Richard David-Caine) and Dame Dolly (Simon Howe) particular highlights. Niki Evans provided a touch of class as the Wicked Queen, and more laughter was provided by Jo Brand in the form of the magic mirror. The children were transfixed and giggling throughout and didn’t tire at all, despite the show finishing a long way past their bedtime!  We were very fortunate to be invited to the press show where the children were given the opportunity to meet the cast at the after-show party, which Jas took full advantage of… With something for all the family, we can thoroughly recommend Worthing Theatre’s excellent pantomime Snow White.  Running until the 1st January, there’s still plenty of time to catch it; tickets are available online and would even make a fantastic Christmas present.  …

James Campbell’s Comedy 4 Kids

James treated Miss J to an afternoon at the theatre yesterday afternoon, to her first stand-up comedy gig no less.  It was aimed at children, of course! Comedy 4 Kids in the brainchild of James Campbell, and went down a treat at Worthing’s Connaught Theatre.  Miss J came home full of smiles and reciting a fair bit of toilet humour!  Of course, when you’re six, a grown man talking about poo and wee at the theatre is probably about as funny as it gets. Afterwards, they met the man himself in the foyer, got their tickets signed, and Miss J even had her photo taken with him.  I think the smile on her face as she left the Connaught says it all!  Here’s to more Daddy and daughter days.
